Legacy of Prayer

If you know me, you know I am a mom who has a passion to pray with other moms for children. There is nothing like being a mom. There is nothing like hearing another mom lifting up your child, by name, to the One who is in control of the world.

My involvement in the prayer ministry of Moms In Touch International began with Crystal entering high school when I met with one other mom each week for one hour of prayer and that was 14 years ago.

Moms In Touch is a worldwide community of mothers praying for children and schools. Moms In Touch provides hope and strength to moms who carry heavy burdens for their children. Today, tens of thousands of women gather in all fifty states and in more than 120 countries to pray for their children and schools.

Today, Crystal is 27 years old and married to Jeremiah for over five years. Here, in her own words, is how Moms In Touch has made an impact:

It is such a blessing and an honor to know that my mom commits one night of her week to praying for me and my family. I have never doubted my mother's love for me, and this is just one of the many ways that she shows it.

Not only does she pray for me, but she also sends me the scriptures that all of the moms used during the Moms In Touch meeting that week. This further encouragement for me as I am reminded of God's character and His desire to impact my life.

Having a connection to Moms In Touch is like having access to "the Bat-Signal." Whenever there is a concern or a need, I just "send out the Bat-Signal" to my mom and she engages her troupe of prayer warrior moms to lift it up in prayer. I have made that phone call to my mom many times, and, trust me, you don't want to mess with these women who are connected to the power of the Powerful One.

God has transformed and shaped my life in some major ways-through providing a group for strong Christian friends to be my "inner circle" during tumultuous high school, mission trips to Mexico and an Indian Reservation, getting accepted to Judson college, a trip to Ireland with Your For Christ, finally giving in to my passion for ministry and changing my major Sophomore year, living with my 6 college roommates, internships with drug addicts and sex offenders, giving up a summer to work at a Christian camp, meeting-dating-and marrying Jeremiah, moving to Colorado, working in a group home and a prison, moving back to Illinois, and even now as we face the decision to step out in faith to our next phase of life.

Moms In Touch has lifted all of these things up in prayer, and I can clearly see how God has carried me through. Most importantly, Moms IN Touch is made up of women who trust the Lord and realize their need for Him. They understand that only God truly knows what is best for His children, and they humbly submit to that. I am proud to say that I am one of many children who have experienced life change because of that.
