How Do Women Begin to Discover Their Passion?

by Kelly Harbaugh
(Tabitha's Team)

I believe that many women miss finding their passion because they are so wrapped up in the demands and "should-do's" in their life.

Sometimes it is hard to break away from everything that needs to be done to spend the time seeking the passion and purpose that God has given to us.

Can you give us some direction on how women can get started in breaking away from the necessities to explore their God-given talents and passions?

Finding the time...
by: Julie Gorman

I hear your heart in this question...

Finding time with God can be difficult. The day to day routine demands our attention while God patiently waits for us to break away. I think the answer must be simple enough for us to actually be able to "do" practically.

So here are a couple of helpful hints:
1. Don't try to save the world in a day. Grow, learn, and apply at a steady pace. Crash diets never work...and self-discipline can only go so far. Apply the philosophy of a little better all the time. Don't just decide ok now I'm going to seek God for my design an hour a day, rather, make a simple declaration before you get out of bed each day: Father, today I choose to serve you. Show me how to glorify you in it. Reveal your purpose and passions for my life.

2. Seeking God doesn't demand a rigid, regimented schedule. Prayer is a dialogue. Smith Wigglesworth was once asked how long he spent praying at a time. His reply was I rarely pray longer than 5 minutes at a time. The interviewer was shocked. But Smith Wigglesworth quickly interjected, however, I rarely go 5 minutes without praying. My point...prayer is not a time that must occur only in our prayer closet, or a time we have to set the timer for 1 hour and then...bam we're out of there as soon as the timer goes off. Prayer is a lifestyle. A place where we invite God's presence in our lives and daily walk.

3. Ask simple questions while going throughout your day:

Like, Lord, what is your will for my life today?

What talents seem to come to me naturally?

How can I use the gifts that God has given me (the things that seem to come to me naturally) to glorify you and edify your body?

What needs surround me, right now, this very present moment?

Hope this helps and gets you started...I would love to offer more. Feel free to email me at hisloveextended@comcast.net
