You can stand waist deep in the Colorado River and still die of thirst.

What is your reach-out recipe?
The author gave you great information and instruction, but you didn't act on his words.
How did that work for you?
Its funny. We can store up all of this knowledge about nutrition, calorie counting, carbohydrates, and fats - but none of it is worth anything if we don't act on that knowledge. It's just a bunch of facts.
We walk around as proud, fat experts on nutrition.
However, if we put those words into practice, we benefit by receiving a healthier body.
He has given us all the instruction we will need. If we don't act on his words, it is just a bunch of facts.
We walk around as proud, fat experts on the Bible.
If we do act on his words, we benefit by building a firm foundation to hold us steady.
Therfore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his own house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it has its foundation on the rock.
Matthew 7:24-25
What was that?
The foundation was not built by meditation.
Not by reading 3 hours a day.
The firm foundation was built by putting Jesus' words in practice.
When we lay our foundation with action, we are preparing for the inevitable storms. We know that they will come, so we prepare by taking the proper actions.
If we choose to build on something else, we shouldn't be surprised by the consequences and yell at God when everything collapses.
If we go running into enemy territory and get shot at, we're not exactly being attacked.
-Stormie Omartain, Just Enough Light for The Step I'm On
Ignoring God's instructions is like running into enemy territory.
We are surrounded by God's direction, but we try another path and get tangled.
We are surrounded by God's grace, but we try to earn salvation and get frustrated.
We are surrounded by God's peace, but we worry ourselves into poor health.
God does not withhold his love from us. It exists in abundance all around us. We are surrounded by its river. But we need to act to receive it.
We can't count on his steadiness if we didn't build on his foundation.
A couple brings home a new baby.
A friend loses a loved one.
Someone you know is just having a really stressful life right now and could use a prepared meal for dinner.
You probably have your standard dish for this. Share your recipe with us! Then we can all have more variety. I know people are probably comparing notes and they all think I can't make anything but pizza rigatoni. (I'll share the recipe, but you have to share yours).

This is a place where women work together to serve God.
Tabitha's Team is a Christian women's website, based on Acts 9:36: In Joppa, there was a disciple named Tabitha...who was always doing good and helping the poor.
Kelly Harbaugh
I hope to inspire Christian women to seek first to be disciples, encourage each other to break free from perfectionism, and live as servants of Jesus.
