Welcome from KellyLet us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.
Welcome to the July newsletter of Tabitha's Team, a place where women work together to serve God. Er.. well...at least that is the ideal. The internet is buzzing again with an issue that divides Christian women in a heartbeat - The Working Mom Question. We really need to cool our jets and remember who we are representing. No, I don't mean which camp of working or SAHM or WAHM women you are representing. I mean Jesus. So a new blog series is starting...
The Working Mom QuestionIs It Okay for a Christian mom to work outside the home? You would think we would be done with this question, but in the Christian mom blogger world, it has been a hot topic lately. At least four of the blogs that I follow have errupted into debates about a woman's role in marriage, motherhood, and work in the comment section. Some comments were very considerate and constructive, some were a little prideful, and some were outright rude, to the point where I question if the writer would say the same things if she were looking the other woman in the eye. I know you have read this countless times before, but Tabitha's Team is literally a product of women cutting each other up on the internet. As this newly fueled debate feeds into my mission of women encouraging each other, I started working on a response. However, this is too big of an issue for one simple blog post. There is a lot more to consider than the short comments that have been used and overused in this debate. So what I ended up with is a series. Starting Monday, July 5th, my blog will feature a series on The Working Mom Question. However, the first thing I need to do is rephrase the question... Click here to continue reading
A Prayer For Your Women's MinistryI pray that the women of __(your church name)___ will be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that we may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that we may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2-3) I pray that in Christ the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him we will be built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit. (Ephesians 2:21-22) I pray that we will not lose connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. (Colossians 2:19) I pray that Satan will not outwit us, for we are not unaware of his schemes. (2 Corinthians 2:11) That we will wrestle in prayer for each other, that we may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. (Colossians 4:12) That we will put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10) I pray that we will put off falsehood and speak truthfully to our neighbors, for we are all members of one body. (Ephesians 4:25) I pray that we will not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. That we would not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom we were sealed for the day of redemption. That we would get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. That we would be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ forgave us. (Ephesians 4:29-32) That we will submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Ephesians 5:21) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
