Welcome from KellyBut remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
Today is a special day of rememberence for me. On May 25, 2009, I filed the charter to start Tabitha's Team Inc. and began the blueprints for tabithas-team.com. So this just seemed like the appropriate day for the May newsletter. Will you celebrate with me?
BeginningsThe idea for Tabitha's Team began in 2008 on a little blog started about a subject that I did not want to deal with. As I felt the urge to write, I prayed for direction. The answer? Write about Proverbs 31. This began my argument with God. I reminded him that Proverbs 31 teaching and analysis has been done and overdone. We're all tired of reading it. I told him that I just couldn't see where a new contribution could be made. The answer? Write about Proverbs 31. I was determined to prove my case, so I invited God to sit down with me as I visited Amazon and showed him how many books had been written on this subject. Recommended ResourcesTeri Lynne Underwood from www.pleasingtoyou.com has written a great series on ANTI-balance Her blog series is a great reminder that the juggling, do-it-all, balance theory is a myth. Instead, we should find out priorities for our current season and live "lop-sided."
Recommended BookKelly's Review
When I saw that Sense and Sensibility was available for Bethany House bloggers, I was curious. Why would a publishing company want a review of a famous classic novel? And more important, how would I write a review of a Jane Austen novel? I had never read this classic; I had only seen the 1995 movie. I really wanted to read the whole story, so I requested it. Here is what makes this version different: The editors are reading and commenting right along with you. There are notes in the margins throughout this Insight Series edition. Some of the notes are relevant facts about Jane Austen's life. Some comment on how a scene or character was portrayed in movies. There were notes to help me understand the culture of the time. "Ranking Our Dislike" was a comment updated often in the book, followed by a list of the characters that make you angry. Some comments are just plain funny observations. Some of my favorites:
