Welcome from KellyIf you have visited Tabitha's Team since my last newsletter, you know that I have been blogging a lot lately about Moms in Touch, prayer, and the upcoming Arise, Cry Out! event. I hope you are not tired of hearing about it. Women need to pray. Women need to pray together. Women need to pray together on a regular basis. We cannot tackle our other needs and issues until we really believe this. I hope you find some inspiration to pray with other women or share your story of prayer with us. The Tragedy of Unoffered Prayer"The great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer but unoffered prayer." -F.B. Meyers (taken from Every Child Needs a Praying Mom by Fern Nichols) Why is it that when we announce a chocolate fountain and door prizes, women flock to the event, but when we announce that we will be gathering together for an hour to pray for our children, few women can be found? Sometimes I think I need a translator to check my language, because I swear that women instead hear me say I am seeking them out to take them to the dentist. It is intimidating to pray. But there is a reason for that. Prayer is battle. When your children are the "territory at stake," should intimidation keep you from fighting? Stories of Praying Moms(from September 28, 2009) I enjoyed working the Moms in Touch booth at the MOPS International convention on Friday. I've never talked to so many women about Moms in Touch in one day! Although our main purpose was to introduce Moms in Touch to Moms who had children entering school, we were blessed with the stories from so many Moms in Touch women who came by. One woman introduced herself and told me that she had been praying with a Moms in Touch group for 15 years. Her youngest daughter is getting ready to graduate, and all of the moms are planning a lunch to get together and celebrate years of praying together. A very young woman ran into our booth exclaiming, "This is such a great organization!" We smiled and asked if she was in a group. "No, My mom was," she answered. She had been prayed for in Moms in Touch all of her life and she knew it had made a difference. Now a mother of two toddlers, she couldn't wait to do the same for her own children. "We meet every Monday," came another testimony. "I wouldn't miss it." I was startled by a Mom who walked up to me claiming that she had a confession to make. She explained that she called Moms in Touch 8 years ago, wanting to start a group, and "never did anything with it." She said that she always felt that she had been disobedient to God. "I feel like Jonah, running away from Ninevah," she said. This woman was not sad, she was enthusiastic. She seemed to view this conference as message that she could still do it, and now with 3 children in school, she was excited. What is your Moms in Touch Story?
Participate!Laura from Laura's Lines shared her daughter's testimony about Moms in Touch on Tabitha's Team. Here is just a piece of that testimony: Having a connection to Moms In Touch is like having access to "the Bat-Signal." Whenever there is a concern or a need, I just "send out the Bat-Signal" to my mom and she engages her troupe of prayer warrior moms to lift it up in prayer. I have made that phone call to my mom many times, and, trust me, you don't want to mess with these women who are connected to the power of the Powerful One... Click here to read whole story
