My first experience with Donald Miller's writing was when I read
Blue Like Jazz
on Valentines Day. I was supposed to buy the
Fireproof
movie, but the store was sold out of the movies, so I came home with Donald's best-selling book instead.
I started the book early in the day as I was putting in my first load of laundry. I sat down in the basement living room to keep one ear on the washer. Before I knew it, it was late at night, the laundry was done and the book was finished. I had spent the whole day laughing out loud in the basement, and yes, ignoring my husband on Valentines Day.
That is what Donald Miller's writing is like. You feel like you are spending time with a great friend who makes you laugh and think about your faith at the same time. Hours just fly by.
