Fearless
by Max Lucado is right on target for today's culture. Reading this book is like playing a video game where the goal is to find every piece of fear and destroy it. In a world where fear seems to be lurking in every corner, Max gives us the tools to zap it out of our lives. He sets up each common fear one by one and tears it down with the Word of God. Then he shows us the only healthy fear, the fear of our mighty God, because "When Christ is great, our fears are not."
Even those who think they are living without fear will recognize places in their lives that need more faith. Max reminds us that Jesus spoke to us about our fears more often than any other subject, and starts each chapter with words from Jesus telling us not to be afraid. This book reminded me how destructive fear can be, and that we don't have to have all of the answers to trust God and live by faith.
Discussion questions at the end of the book make this perfect for a small group setting.
